Previously, voided invoices clearly displayed
“Void”
in Partner Center. Now, sent invoices must be cancelled using a credit note, which causes them to display
“Paid”
instead.
A cancelled invoice is NOT a paid invoice.
This is very misleading and creates unnecessary work. I now have to open invoices and investigate credit notes just to determine whether a client actually paid. What a huge pain!
And now I can't trust the Paid status is accurate on the invoices anymore!!! 😭 There's no way to differentiate them at a glance - I will literally have to click into each one to confirm it's actually paid. 🤯
Requested Improvements:
  • Restore the “Void” status or display “Cancelled” for fully credited invoices.
  • Clearly distinguish actual payments from credit notes.
  • Show the correct status in invoice lists and reports.
Previously, I could identify a voided invoice at a glance. Now, when I'm on the phone explaining adjusted invoices to a client, I can't even distinguish paid invoices from cancelled ones without opening each invoice to confirm details.
I understand the need to maintain accurate accounting records and audit trails. However,
a $0 balance does not mean an invoice was paid.
An invoice settled through a credit note is fundamentally different from one paid by a client. The status should reflect that distinction, not simply indicate that the balance has been cleared.
This is a major step backward in usability and a significant waste of time!

I'm all for improvements, but this feature replacement somehow managed to turn a perfectly simple, functional feature into an administrative nightmare.
Please prioritize fixing this or simply restore the Void feature we had before.
