Or better yet the ability to assign a particular conversation to self or to a user (staff). Most chats including facebook chat have this feature.

I agree with Jordan's input on anyone viewer update feature as it provides more clarity.

not only typing but even viewing cause they may just be on it, not typing, but looking into an update. Check out what Zendesk does for this. (attached)
