I’d love to see more advanced features added to the Local SEO Grid tool. It would be extremely useful to customize how far the local grid extends from the business location, as well as how many pins are displayed. For example, being able to choose a 5x5 grid with 25 pins over a 5-mile radius, or a 15x15 grid with 225 pins over 3 miles, would offer more flexibility depending on the campaign goals. I’d also love to see key metrics like average rank and share of voice integrated directly into the Local Grid. Another big improvement would be the ability to view historical snapshots of previous scans—this would help visualize progress over time, beyond just the trends tab in the keyword tracker. Finally, the ability to zoom out on the map would enhance usability and give a clearer picture of performance across larger areas.

Hi Daltry Martin. Thanks so much for the thoughtful feedback and detailed suggestions around the Local SEO Grid tool—this is exactly the kind of input that helps us improve.
You’ve highlighted some really impactful enhancements:
- Grid customization (adjusting radius, number of pins, and density)
- Integrated insights (average rank, share of voice, etc.)
- Historical snapshots (beyond keyword trends)
- Improved usability (map zoom and broader visualization)
We agree that these features would significantly boost flexibility and reporting power. The main complexity we’re working through is that larger or denser grids increase the number of lookups required, which has a direct impact on cost. That’s why we’ve planned a spike (an internal research project) to explore ways we could deliver these improvements while keeping the tool affordable and scalable.
As we dig in, your examples—like choosing between a 5x5 grid over 5 miles vs. a 15x15 grid over 3 miles—are incredibly helpful for shaping what this might look like in practice. Historical visibility is also a top request we’ve heard, and we’re actively considering how to bring that into the product in a way that complements the Trends tab.
We’ll keep you updated as this work progresses. Thanks again for taking the time to outline your vision—it’s clear how much value these enhancements would bring to campaign reporting and optimization.
